COMPLIMENTARY MARTINI'S
New Orleans School Teacher Leann came by BGD Beauty Bar Friday "Makeup & Martini" to celebrate girlfriend Val birthday. Leann wanted fun eyes and her brows shaped. Since Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis is known for doing great brows Leann wanted to see if anything could be done with her's. Of course she left pleased with her brows.
Birthday girl, Val really enjoyed herself at BGD Beauty Bar "Makeup & Martini's.
Not only did she get a very nice makeup application but was able to enjoy 3 complimentary apple martini's.  If any of you like apple martini's ask about the key lime pie martini. If you are ever looking for a great gift for any female and not sure what to buy her, give her a gift certificate for Makeup & Martini.
ESSENCE FESTIVAL WEEKEND 2004

Essence Festival Weekend was very busy for me but still I was able to take care of my brides. This bride came to see me at 10am to get a full makeup application with lashes. She looks like a brown skin barbie...don't you agree?
Saturday Night I gave a hand to NewOrleansBlack.com "First Friday Fashion Show" @ The Hyatt Hotel for Essence Weekend. The fashion show started about 1am.

Both Anthony Patton & Eddie Bonner put on a great event. The attendance were a young  professional African American crowd.

A lot of music artist stopped by but it was good to see Doug E. Fresh. He's an artist that I admire and someone that I grew up listening to when I lived in New York.

I was able to give the models a sample of what goes on at BGD Beauty Bar
.

This year Essence Festival was very special to me. My first year of having a location to do makeup. Usually I am running around the city doing makeup on the artists that perform at the concert as well as makeup for the ladies that are going to the concert at their homes or hotels.
But this year I was able to have the locals and out of towners come to me to get their makeup done. What was also special about this year was that I was using 90% of my own makeup. Let me tell you.... we had a ball. It was out of control. I must say I am so blessed. My regulars came by to bring me lunch, drinks, snacks you name it. Because they knew I was not going to have time to stop in eat. My husband stopped by in brought me a case of CRUNK energy drink by "Lil Jon" and that's what kept me going all weekend. I was serving key lime pie and apple tini's, CRUNK and vodka.
The party was at BGD Beauty Bar all weekend. It never stop. I am already looking for a new spot because I have already out grown my first location. So keep in eye open for me.
