| Brandy Gomez-Duplessis, a New York born make-up artist, developed BGD Make-Up Artistry with this in mind. Her work, an ardent reflection of beauty, style, creativity, and passion has made her one of the most sought after make-up artist in the city. "I don't want women to just look beautiful, I want them to feel beautiful and that is what I want Make-Up Artistry to be about", says Gomez-Duplessis. Makeup Artist, Brandy Gomez-Duplessis has worked for Estee Lauder in New York, M.A.C. Cosmetics in New Orleans. She was also honor to do the makeup for the biggest wedding still in New Orleans, the wedding for New Orleans Fomer Mayor, Marc Morial and his beautiful wife news reporter Michelle Miller. Gomez-Duplessis decided it was time to branch out on her own. "I just want a place of my own to do what I love which is makeup, brows and lashes, while playing music and having tini's", laughs Gomez-Duplessis. "I wanted a place that represents who I am and other women who enjoy girlie things". So I always describe it as New York Fashion Meets New Orleans Pampered Princess". I'm not a makeup artist just for black and spanish women I am a makeup artist who has a gift to paint every face. I don't limit myself or the type of clients I can do. New Orleans has never had a makeup studio like BGD Beauty Bar where it's about women laughing having a great time while shopping, having tini's, getting there makeup done and listening to high energy music says Gomez-Duplessis. When people drive by my store on Magazine Street they actually stop and park their car in come inside to see what's going on because we are having so much fun and it doesn't hurt when pretty girls are hanging out. You will always find the local New Orleans models (male & females) hanging out with me says Gomez-Duplessis. When Gomez-Duplessis is not working at the store or on set you may see her sitting at your next board meeting. | Everyone always ask where is Brandy on Tuesday? Here she is working with New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin on his TV Show. Brandy works with every guest on the show. Here you see Jazz Artist Irving Mayfield waiting for his turn to get makeup. The week before this picture Brandy worked with Performer Earl Turner with Harrah's Casino. | Prayers go out to everyone in New Orleans. I don't know what to say to bring relief to all of the people that was hit by Hurricane Katrina. Due to this BGD Beauty Bar is now a memory as well as BGD home. For everyone that is worrying about Brandy she is with her husband, her kids, and of course she has those two spoil yorkies with her. Happy New Year to all of my BGD Clients. I am missing you all so very much!!! BGD Beauty Bar will return to New Orleans I just don't know when for now. The building is being sold so I have to find a storefront but first I have to get a loan approved before I can do anything and that's not looking good. I was not able to save much so I will have to start all over. Girls, just know we will all be together soon and every friday night remember to toast to "Makeup & Martini". Hey Yaya, I know you do...I love you. As soon as we know what's going to happen to N.O. East it will give us more insight on our next step... do we sell or rebuild. Nechelle...Michael finally got his way he got me out of New Orleans, don't worry I am coming back, and I'm not a native but there's no place like New Orleans. Girls...I just can't live in a trailer unless they custom make one for me with pink shag rugs, crystal chandeliers, a martini bar, makeup & hair studio:))) Today, I am doing better mentally, yes I too, superwoman BGD was in a bad depression. I will be back to do all my regular services; Brow Shaping Lashes Makeup Applications I will NOT be at my old location for now I will freelancing and two weeks I will be meeting with my realtor about my old office building at One St. Charles Place.
